Job Description:

Job Purpose

To independently manage the execution and post-disbursement monitoring of very large and complex project finance transactions, and coordinate with all internal/external parties at all levels in order to achieve smooth and high quality management of transactions

Key Accountabilities

Operational & Business Plans

  • Translate the Specialized Finance strategy into the region’s operational / business plans and monitor execution of performance to ensure that objectives are achieved and targets are met with high standards

    People Management

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Manage and evaluate employee’s performance with continuous feedback on their assigned targets and provide development opportunities to maximize potential and engagement of employees

    Budgeting & Financial Performance

  • Prepare and recommend the Region’s budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly

    Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Recommend improvements to policies and manage the implementation of procedures covering all areas of the Region’s Specialized Finance activity so that all relevant requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers. In addition to liaising with other department managers to overcome and resolve critical shortcomings to the service levels and client experience

  • Adhere to the Bank’s AML/CTF policy, guidelines and all SAMA’s regulations relating to account opening, KYC and Customer Due Diligence.

    Business Development and Client Servicing

  • Monitor and maintain credit facilities for each client to ensure client is using the credit facilities assigned for his account.

  • Conducting regular client visits and calls to strengthen, evaluate and promote business development

  • Identify revenue opportunities to actively sell Corporate Banking products to the specialized finance customers in order to support the sales targets.

  • Maximize product penetration and cross selling and actively seek structured finance opportunities (securitization of financial assets etc) in-order to ensure the services required by the organization are delivered in the most effective manner.

    Financial Analysis

  • Manage the required financial analysis for clients and provide value added reporting to facilitate effective decision making

  • Oversee the preparation and approval of Credit facility requests by reviewing rationale, - financial analysis results, and supporting information to determine the credit worthiness of the organization.

    Risk Management

  • Analyze corporate customer risk profile in order to appropriately secure the required credit approvals and approve CAMs if within authority levels

  • Act promptly to either resolve directly or escalate to appropriate levels, any unresolved issues raised by the relation managers to ensure speedy resolution of issues

    Relationship Management

  • Ensure effective management of relationships with specialized finance customers in order to generate leads, cross-sell and services and achieve maximization of revenue

  • Provide an exemplary service to customers ensuring that long term relationships are developed and nurtured and that customers come to view NCB as their trusted advisor/ bank of choice

  • Facilitate negotiations and structuring of transactions in coordination with product specialists

  • Ensure client requests, complaints, enquiries and escalations are addressed and resolved as per expected service standards

    Continuous Improvement

  • Motivate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of business processes, productivity and revenue generation

    Reporting

    Supervise the preparation of timely and accurate statements and reports to meet operational / business requirements, policies and standards

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Engineering or Chartered Accountant + MBAs from the world’s best schools/universities

    Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years of corporate/project finance experience with leading financial institutions

  • The experience covers project finance deals in industrial and core infrastructure sectors

    Skills/Attributes:

  • Attention to details – specially in reviewing and negotiating extensive documentation;

  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced proficiency with Microsoft excel functions;

  • Ability to build/analyse complex financial models (both Project Finance and Fixed Income instruments);

  • Ability to adapt and analyse pre-prepared spreadsheets / models to meet changing requirements.

  • Construct and occasionally restructure of financial and valuation models

  • Strong understanding of scenario functions and ability to clearly construct and explain sensitivities

  • Present model outputs to other members of the team and summarizing these for the purposes of discussions with senior management and clients;

  • Sound analytical, presentation and report writing skills.
